It is difficult to overestimate the value of a good resume, especially in our time, when competition in the labor market just rolls over, and experts easily move from one industry to another. Why is it so important to write a competent resume? The fact is that the manager or HR-manager has a very limited time frame over which it is necessary to find a suitable employee. If we consider that an interview takes from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, and it takes an average of one and a half or two minutes to view a resume, it becomes clear why it is so important to have a good resume. You can be a fantastic employee, enchant and bewitch people, bring millions for the company. But the problem is that nobody knows this from the very beginning, and, probably, will not find out! So, how to write such a resume, so that you do not immediately fall into those 80% of losers, to whom the queue does not even reach?
What is a resume?
First of all, you need to understand what is a resume. For some strange reason, there are two extremes in the market: some consider that it is enough to indicate your name and phone number, as well as 2-3 words about myself (I am all good, smart and hardworking, I want a lot of money, take me urgently to work) others, on the contrary, paint on several sheets with artistic revolutions about their difficult lives.
Both options are wrong. Resume – this is a brief, true and relevant information about your knowledge, skills and work experience. I want to draw attention to these 3 aspects that characterize the information:
Brevity – all information should be abstract, only the most necessary. You should not write that in 1997 I enrolled at such a university. It was not easy to act, but I studied a lot and did it. The training went smoothly, I often received a scholarship, etc. If desired, you may be asked about it at the interview. And from the resume it should simply be clear which university you graduated from, what specialty you received, and if you have any, individual merits.
Truthfulness – these would seem obvious things. But it was not there. I’m sure if you’ve seen a resume, you’ve seen almost everywhere – a confident computer and Internet user, knowledge of office equipment, English. Languages generally keep quiet. Do not write what is not. First, it is very easy to check. Secondly, if you are suddenly taken to work, you may be charged with this matter, which you do not know at all. And if the basics of working with PCs and the Internet can be studied fairly quickly (only why it is not done BEFORE writing), then if you are assigned to negotiate with a foreigner, you can seriously get into it.
